They’re not just stealing bikes:
The news is full of reports of crime and theft, Not just bikes, tools, or car stereos, but catalytic converters. Here’s a Ring Doorbell owner in action. Ring’s motion alert to the homeowner who was visiting across town, foiled this theft. One minute later and they’d have the converter off, and be gone.
Anyone with bikes, small motorized or electric vehicles, and anyone with a car newer than 1975 can be a victim of outdoor theft.
(The going rate for a stolen converter is between $350 and $1000. Pretty good payday).

Backyard floodlight cam is a big step above a motion-floodlight. Ring Pro version offers even more, with smart motion detection, verbal warning, and an optional alarm horn.

Why use Ring4Retirees?
Doesn’t Ring have it’s own installers?
Yes, but Ring’s OnTech, is focused on large whole-home security.
Most of us just don’t need that, nor the cost.
Ring4Retirees, By Retirees is different.
We retirees are mostly looking for basic security. That’s how Ring4Retirees got started. Mainstream installers start at $350, we’re less than half that. How do we do it? The logo says it all: For Retirees, By Retirees.
Your installer is a fellow retiree, A part-time, independent contractor, but Ring Certified, and who works his/her own schedule. They may even live in your own community. Low overhead, low cost.
With a Ring doorbell and the free Neighbors app, we can each better look out for each other: easily post doorbell video, warnings, and info like lost pets. You’ll get emergency and police alerts too.
If you choose to share, your doorbell video can be helpful to police investigations in the event of an incident.
Make Appointment“We’ve had numerous “porch pirates” in our area, but with my Ring, I know when a package has been delivered, If I’m away, I just call a neighbor to grab it for me. So convenient!”

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to have WiFi?
Yes, The Ring uses WiFi for the video, the audio, and the doorbell. Most 55+ communities offer WiFi, and most internet services do as well. Your smartphone likely has a hotspot that will work as well.
I’m seasonal, and shut off the power, but I’d like to monitor my place when I’m gone.
Yes, there are at least 3 ways to do that, which one is best depends on how far you want to go with home security. Cal us to discuss your options.
Will this work on a laptop computer?
Absolutely! The Ring app works on computers, tablets, and smart phones whether Apple or Android.
Is there any other cost?
Yes and No. The basic Ring always gives free live video, audio and doorbell functions, but does not save or replay without a subscription: current cost is under $5/month for 1 device. There are ways to save the video to a memory card or your computer, but many feel that to instantly get the replay, when you want/need it is worth the subscription.
How do I get support if a problem?
Lots of help right on your phone, and Ring offers free 24/7 support by phone or internet chat, and many YouTube videos. They also have a FaceBook group where other users post and answer.
Why is your price so much less?
We’re Ring4Retirees, By Retirees, which means your installer is a fellow retiree doing the work as a side-hustle, ie part-time, and often a fellow resident. Lowwer overhead, lower cost.
